I Would Describe Myself As

I’m not sure why I am here. I admit I pondered it for a few days, or maybe weeks. Apprehension has its place sometimes to mask facing your internal doubt. But why not forge ahead…what’s the worst that could happen…and the best…well, that depends on you. I am “Me” and I’d like a moment to tell you who I am, how I see me, the paths I chose in life and the pinnacle of where I am now. I have a 6’2” frame, lyingly fit, moustache, shaved head for easy maintenance, but it’s the eyes that sparkle with intelligent thought that leads to the real treasure. I am smooth dark skinned, a voice that speaks with passion and a laugh like a man that enjoys life. I am conscious of grooming, tantalizing smells and matched clothing befitting a man of my age. But the outside package is only designed to stop and hope you’ll notice, and if you do, then I’m guaranteed to get a few smiles, conversation and laughter out of you. My path in life, chosen decisions and the pursuit of things most important to me, would probably not have our paths cross. Power, wealth, status, titles, etc has eluded me. Once I learned I wasn’t going to set the world a blaze, I opted to improve my character, revitalize my moral compass, seek personal joy within, own peaceful times and fall in love with the person in the mirror. I am a travel writer by trade, write blogs for magazines and repair and teach computer classes. I can be found many times over at the beach locations listening to music and dancing the night away. My spiritual foundation is the brick and mortar of my existence and has aided my acceptance of the flows in life. I have traveled the world, cruised the seas, loved at the base of the Eiffel Tower and smoked pot in Amsterdam. But at the end of the day, I only come home to me… Hence, I guess, that why I’m here, but my apprehension hasn’t totally subsided. I will always stand on my own feet and I like knowing honesty is ingrained in my fiber.

The journey toward happiness with another person begins within you. The true “you” must come forth as natural as a smile. You owe that as a basis of a serious desire to seek a new friend. I offer you that, but I also offer you a man that enjoys the journey, intelligent thoughts, an open mind, debates ( commonly referred to as opinions), creative talents and a willingness to take charge and lead the way (of course with agreement). And I am sometimes lazy, bull-headed, opinionated, laughingly silly and any other emotion that is void of violence or raging anger, I promise you I can do without. I am a romantic, the Temptations romantic, breed from the best of Boomers…I love loving, I love being able to see that look in your eye and I love making love, and I mean making love, before and after. I don’t want to give you a sales pitch, but I will always trust my instincts and decisions, right or wrong. Because I’m rooted, grounded, open-hearted and wanting to grow more. My eyes are on the prize of joy, happiness, spiritual balance and peace, not on my next promotion. I love waking in the morning with coffee and a smile.

There are still many blanks to be filled but I’d rather do those together then chosen words on paper. I am here, you are there… At this moment I thought of unity, yes, that’s what I want…blending of souls based on honesty, commitment, and other nebulous profile words. But I gotta have it wrapped in laughter, rolling laughter and many “just happy to be here” hugs. I am very serious about finding a lasting love that believes like I do.I am fresh and real offering one initial squeeze to see if I go in the basket. In the meantime, I’m going to figure out why my GPS keeps saying “recalculating.”
